“Huge” Clitoris?

The Question

“I’m embarrassed by what feels like a “huge” clitoris; there’s a lot of tissue around the area. What can be done? The area is also highly sensitive.”

Thank you for your question. I want to start by saying that what you’re experiencing is more common than you might think – and there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Seeking answers is always the right step.

I want to start by offering an important clinical observation: based on your photos, what you’re describing does not appear to be clitoromegaly, or an enlarged clitoris. What I’m actually seeing is excess skin of the clitoral hood, specifically the lateral prepuce, along with the appearance of the labia. The clitoris itself appears to be within normal range.

This distinction matters, because the solution would be quite different. Excess clitoral hood skin is very commonly addressed through a procedure called a clitoral hood reduction – also called a hoodectomy or prepuceplasty – which removes the excess lateral hood tissue to give a neater, more-proportionate appearance. This is frequently performed alongside labiaplasty and is a minimally-invasive, in-office procedure.

The easy orgasmic response you describe is also completely normal. In fact, it may be partly because the clitoral tissue is less covered or more exposed than average, which can increase sensitivity. That is not something to be concerned about.

I’d encourage you to consult with a surgeon who specializes in this area and can evaluate your anatomy in person or online via TeleHealth to give you a precise recommendation.

Uneven Perineum & Vaginal Openness After Perineotomy

I’d Prefer a More Tucked-in Appearance

"I'm very uncomfortable in tight pants, bathing suits - even some underwear. What's the best approach for labiaplasty? I want an "innie" - where all the tissue is "tucked in," and for the darker part of the skin to be removed. Can I get this procedure at 18 years old?"
