Thank you for sharing your goals and concerns so clearly. Everything you’ve described – discomfort in tight clothing, a desire for a smoother and more tucked appearance, a priority on preserving sensation and function – is very much within the scope of what labiaplasty can address beautifully.
At 18, you are old enough to pursue this procedure… and physical discomfort is one of the most common reasons patients your age seek labiaplasty. You should never feel as though your concerns aren’t “serious enough” to address.
Based on your goals, I’d likely recommend a modified wedge technique. It aligns with your identified outcomes: a clean, seamless appearance accompanied with significant reduction in excess skin and preservation of your labia’s natural skin edge.
Depending on your anatomy, a clitoral hood reduction may also be recommended to create balance and avoid a situation where the hood tissue becomes relatively more prominent after the labia are reduced.
Your concern about preserving sensitivity is completely understandable. I want to reassure you that when labiaplasty is performed by an experienced surgeon using proper technique, sensation and orgasmic function are preserved.
Regarding discoloration: labiaplasty can remove the darker-pigmented edges of the labia. Sometimes the best approach for this is laser resurfacing or whiting cream.
I’d encourage you to consult a labiaplasty surgeon in person or online via TeleHealth. They’ll evaluate your anatomy and walk you through realistic expectations.
