Vaginal Tightening Decision: Shots, Laser or Radio Frequency?
The Question
“I’d like to schedule an appointment for vaginal rejuvenation, primarily to tighten the vagina. I’m overwhelmed by the options out there! Right now, I’d like to start with noninvasive procedures and would like to know which have immediate results and what might last longer? Is there a shot, radio frequency treatment or CO2 laser you recommend?”

Before we get into my answer for you, I’d like to do a little “expectation management.” No matter what nonsurgical vaginal tightening procedure you choose, know that tightening will improve over time post treatment. Right now, there is no nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment that will produce immediate results. If you see marketing for something along those lines, that’s a big red flag.
Now, let’s get into your question. If you’re looking for a non-invasive vaginal rejuvenation treatment that produces tightening results quickly and is long lasting, I have a recommendation for you: Viveve.
Unlike other radio frequency treatments, Viveve results can last up to a year with a single treatment.
Viveve is entirely noninvasive – there are no shots and the procedure is painless. Viveve is the gold standard for long-lasting nonsurgical vaginal rejuvenation. Patients can expect a boost in collagen, which improves texture and tone of the vagina, as well as some restoration of natural moisture.
While nothing will tighten the vagina as significantly as vaginoplasty (deep canal) and perineoplasty (opening) surgical procedures, Viveve is a fantastic stop-gap treatment that can produce noticeable improvements in tightening.
One of our patients recently had this to say about their Viveve treatment with Labiaplasty Center of Los Angeles: “I flew from Las Vegas to see Dr. Poucher for a complimentary consultation for labiaplasty. During my conversation with her, I mentioned that I had been experiencing vaginal dryness, some incontinence as well as moderate vaginal laxity. I’m in my late 30s and I presume these changes are hormonal/normal signs of aging. We determined that I would address those concerns with Viveve. It’s been about three months since my Viveve treatment and I can say, without a doubt, that there’s a noticeable difference. I’m tighter, my natural moisture levels have improved and I no longer leak when I sneeze. I will be getting Viveve every year!”
I hope this answers your question to your satisfaction.
