The “Right” Number of ThermiVa Treatments
The Question
“Can I do more than three ThermiVa treatments? Would the results be better if I asked my practitioner to turn the device to a higher temperature? I would like to see tightening to my labia majora.”

First, let’s chat about the standard ThermiVa protocol. This is a series of three treatments, spaced approximately 30 days apart. For most patients, this series produces excellent results like improved tone, tightening and overall rejuvenation of both internal and external intimate tissue.
That said, every woman’s anatomy and goals are unique. If you feel you want to maximize your results before transitioning to annual maintenance, adding a fourth session is a reasonable option for most patients and something I encourage you to discuss with your provider at your follow-up.
Regarding your question about temperature and the labia majora specifically: Higher temperature does not equal better results. What matters most is achieving the optimal therapeutic temperature for the target tissue, not simply the highest temperature the device can reach. Your ThermiVa provider uses real-time temperature monitoring throughout your treatment to ensure the tissue is being effectively treated while remaining safe and comfortable. Pushing beyond the appropriate range can actually compromise the treatment experience and outcome rather than enhance it.
The labia majora can be a particularly-satisfying area to treat with ThermiVa because the radiofrequency energy stimulates collagen remodeling and skin tightening in the external tissue, which many women notice as improved fullness, smoothness and overall appearance over time. The key is consistent treatment at the correct therapeutic temperature, not a higher one.
I’d encourage you to share your specific goals with your provider before your next session so they can tailor the treatment accordingly.
