Labiaplasty & Asymmetry
The Question
“I’ve been bothered by the appearance of my right inner labia since puberty. I’m wondering how well a labiaplasty would work with making the left and right sides match better. Is it acheiveable to get the right side into a similar shape to the left without operating on both sides? Also would it cost less to have only one side worked on or would it cost the same regardless?”

This is such a great question – and one I hear more often than you might think.
First, I want to reassure you that labial asymmetry is incredibly common. In fact, it is the norm rather than the exception. Many women have one side that is larger, longer or shaped differently than the other, and – for some – this has been a source of self-consciousness. You are absolutely not alone in this.
To answer your first question: Yes, achieving better symmetry between the two sides is very much an achievable goal with labiaplasty. This is one of the most satisfying outcomes we see. The right side can absolutely be reshaped to more closely match the left – and in skilled hands, the results can be beautifully natural and harmonious.
Now, here is something important to understand: even when the primary concern is one-sided, I always carefully assess both sides during consultation. Why? Because the goal is not just to reduce the right side but to create an overall result that looks balanced, proportional and natural. Sometimes that means operating on one side only. Other times, even a very subtle refinement on the “better” side helps achieve the most symmetrical and aesthetically-pleasing outcome overall. I never recommend operating on both sides simply to increase the scope of a procedure; every recommendation I make is specific to what your individual anatomy calls for.
Regarding cost: At Labiaplasty Center of Los Angeles, pricing is discussed during your consultation because every patient’s anatomy and goals are unique, a one sided procedure does cost less.
