If you’ve been considering an intimate minimally-invasive surgical procedure like labiaplasty or clitoral hood reduction, you may have been wondering: “When’s the ideal time to schedule my treatment?”

The best answer is, “Whenever you’re ready!” If there’s no personal or professional reason to delay your comfort and confidence, the time truly is “now.”

But if you’re struggling to fit your procedure into your busy life, you’ll really want to consider holiday break and winter as the ideal time to schedule labiaplasty. Here’s why.

First: Think about your stitches!

Patients who live in warm climates like Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas and Sacramento are in the water a lot – but that’s a no-no for six weeks after your labiaplasty or other vaginal surgery. “Labiaplasty at Labiaplasty Center of Los Angeles is a minimally-invasive, in-office procedure – but patients will leave with some dissolvable stitches,” explains Dr. Courtenay Poucher. “That’s why, for best outcomes, we advise patients to skip submerging themselves in water during the entirety of their recovery.”

Winter is the least-likely time you’ll have to turn down an invite to a pool party or trip to the beach – making it a great time to get your intimate surgical procedure on the calendar.

And there are other considerations that make winter a more-convenient window, too: time off work and school.

You’re likely already “off” at least a handful of days thanks to holiday scheduling – and that gives you the perfect amount of time to have your surgery performed and to give you a few days to comfortably recover.

While full recovery can take up to six weeks, the vast majority of patients are able to return to work and “life” just a few days after their treatment – which means that, if you plan it right, you can book your vaginal surgery and a little relaxing vacation in Los Angeles if you’re coming from out of town.

“Many of our patients who come from out of town – especially those who are traveling to us from out of the country – combine their surgical procedure with a bit of Los Angeles tourism,” shares Dr. Poucher. “There are a few limitations – no horseback or bike riding, for example. But, generally speaking, if you want to rest for a day or two in your hotel and then sightsee before returning home, you should be able to comfortably do so.”

If labiaplasty surgery is on your selfcare wish list for the holiday and winter season, don’t delay in scheduling your free consultation now. This is the most popular time of year for surgical procedures and premium surgery dates book quickly.
